Mr.Yokouchi, on the right with the garden hose, proves the theory that the oil-cooling portion of the Suzuki Gsxr engine design can flow enough fluid to carry away destructive heat.
The rate of oil flow and the position of the cooling nozzles - both in the head and under the pistons - were critical to breaking the oil's boundary layer for optimum heat transfer.
Mr. Yokouchi had to prove the theory once again to the Japanese Ministry of Transport, which did not have a classification for oil coolin.
It did when he was done.
