The fourth generation Suzuki Gsxr 750 bodywork was entireiy new and distinctive.
The raised rear cowling was a pure aerodynamic consideration.
By permitting the air to rejoin smoothly behind the bike, drag was reduced, but it also made it more difficult for the bike to be drafted on the racetrack.
Revised through and through, the bike's bodywork nevertheless maintained the family relationship in the headlight treatment, using side-by-side beams shielded by a plastic cover.
It was important to the styling designers to create a visual link to the previous Suzuki Gsxr and maintain a family heritage, even though the mechanicals of the bike were completely different.
